The Nisbet is a former sugar cane plantation that is more than 400 years old. Now a coconut plantation, it is the ONLY historic plantation inn located on the beach on the Caribbean island of Nevis. You will enjoy the lush landscape, no sky scrapers, tropical birds, vervet monkeys, and the small genuine population of 12,000 friendly residents. U.S. currency is accepted, and the temperature all year ranges from 75-88 degrees. This is a wonderful temperature to relax in a beachfront hammock, swim in the crystal clear water, or take part in endless island activities.
The rooms here include Junior Suites that have King-size bed, living room with pull-out sofa bed, full bath with shower, wet bar, and a patio or balcony facing the ocean. The Garden Suites have the same with private Garden porches. The Superior Rooms are escalated with glassed in showers. All of the rooms have basic amenities including Wi-Fi, GPS for the hikers and flip video cameras to insure you keep connected.
You will also enjoy extraordinary cuisine at any one of the three dining venues. Coconuts is an open air restaurant that has island favorites, and traditional breakfasts. The Sea Breeze lets you sink your feet in the sand while you dine and has West Indian cuisine, Chicken wraps, and other local fare, as well as fresh island style drinks.
Last but not least, enjoy dinner at the Great House that serves delectable cuisine and is listed as one of the 101 Best Hotel Restaurants. There is afternoon tea, as well as live entertainment there.
