Destination Relaxation – La Digue, Seychelles

C’est Seychelles

If you want to get a world away from your stressful, hectic life, then consider one of our favorite places on this earth, the Seychelles, Africa island chain. There are just 16, of the 115 islands in the Seychelles that offer accommodations. The islands are timeless, have reefs teeming with colorful marine life, and the most photographed, breathtaking beaches in the world.

La Digue is one of those islands that has an ageless tranquility and simplicity that will cleanse your soul. There are very few cars on this island paradise, and the mode of transport are ox carts, walking, or a bicycle. That is all you will need here to take in captivating natural bliss. The pace of life is slower, serene and healing, and you are welcomed here with warmth and friendly smiles from service people, and also the local people.

For small island luxury, stay at La Digue Island Lodge on Anse Reunion Beach. It is set in a verdant and exotic tropical garden of coconut palms. The Island Lodge serves the best creole cooking on the island and has a very popular lounge that provides great drinks and the perfect place to end a day in paradise.

Another awesome place to stay is the L’Union Beach Chalets, which are located on the stunning Anse Source D’Argent beach. It is the beach that get the most photos, and people flock here to go horseback riding, see giant tortoises on site, explore the old plantation’s impressive grounds or the many trails that run alongside the pristine beaches.

If you prefer to stay in the center of it all, consider Anse Reunion village. Gregoire’s Complex is newly built, a great value, and close to everything you may need and want to see. La Digue also puts you close to many stunning, uninhabited islands that are available to tour by short boat ride.

The waters are also alive with sea life, and the people who come to snorkel, scuba dive, go fishing or exploring. In La Digue, you have the choice to do whatever you want or to do nothing at all because you are on island time. The locals will tell you the best places to go, but everywhere in La Digue is the best place to go. You will never forget this experience, and you can learn more at LaDigue online.
