Destination Paradise | Visit St. Lucia

The Land, The People, The Light.

Ah, what else can we say about the Caribbean. The ocean is host to the most beautiful beaches, cerulean waters, and exotic locales like St. Lucia. For those who have visited, they fall in love with this romantic, mountainous, and lush island right away. For others who have not had the St. Lucia experience, it should definitely be experienced sooner than later. Put St. Lucia on your list of must see getaways for the Pitons alone. These twin, sheer rock spires rise almost a mile (1500M) from the Bay of Silence with a base of white, sugar sand beach and turquoise waters.

While the Pitons are the most photographed site in the Caribbean, there is also the wonderful rain forest and the best way to see it is to take the Rainforest Aerial Tram that is suspended two-hundred feet above the canopy for a bird’s eye view of the island. St. Lucia is also for lovers. It has been ranked as one of the world’s top honeymoon destinations, with many luxury Caribbean resorts to enjoy after adventuring. Lie around in an infinity or private plunge pool at Jade Mountain Resort. Get a massage for two at the Rendezvous or have cocktails in a Jacuzzi at the Landings at Rodney Bay.

For epicurean tastes, St. Lucia’s cuisine is to die for. Many restaurants make you feel the food love like Ladera’s Dasheene restaurant that is decorated in stone and island artwork with a perfect view of the Piton’s from your table. Try the Cajun-marinated St. Lucia Snapper and continue to the over-water Rainforest Hideaway for the Thai Coconut and Pumpkin Soup. For the spice lover, try the jerk wings at Jalousie Plantation or partake in Fish Fridays for live music, the best fresh fish, local BBQ and boiling pots that line the gorgeous southwest beach.

For the daring, visit Sulphur Springs Park, above Soufriere and experience the world’s only drive through volcano. Bathe in a nearby healing waterfall or cover yourself with the black mud that locals say is a cure-all and great for your libido too. Let’s not forget about the breathtaking beaches in St. Lucia. The most visited is Rodney Bay Beach, Reduit Beach is a popular stop for cruise lines, Jalousie Beach lies at the foot of the Pitons, and Marigot Bay’s brown sugar sands are a favorite of ex-hippies. Most have options to water ski, kayak, scuba dive, or sail the clear Caribbean. There is just so much to enjoy here. If you visit, this is surely a vacation you will never forget!
