Formerly Indigo Pearl, the Slate Resort in beautiful Phuket, is the epitome of industrial chic, with lavish suites and pool villas by American designer, Bill Bensley. He took his inspiration of the local mining heritage and included lots of texture, soft lighting and deluxe amenities. There is an awesome spa, the Coqoon, and the cuisine here is excellent, as well as the personal service. There are 177 rooms at this resort and rates include buffet breakfast, fruit baskets and munchies provided for your private room.
The facilities here are awesome with the spa, tennis courts, dive center, boutiques for shopping, free WiFi throughout, minibars in rooms, library, watersports of all kinds and much more. At the Slate you can choose from the two stunning adult pools or the family friendly pool. If you book the private villa, you can skinny dip in your own private, striped pool and jacuzzi, not to mention the swim up bar.
Your butler will arrange any surf or turf trip such as sea kayaking, elephant trekking, rafting, island hopping, ATV tours, bicycle rides or you can take a private windsurfing lesson. Be sure and take a tour of Phuket where you can take historical art tours, visit the temples or shop in the colorful markets.
There is a global menu in the huge, open-sided restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Thai food or for fine dining, raft across the lily pond to the Black Ginger, open for dinner only. There is also the Rivet Grill where you can dine in a vintage horse carriage and enjoy great seafood. After dinner, head for the Rebar for music, tapas-styled seafood and excellent wines and cocktails or play snooker and have a drink at the Tongkah Tin Syndicate bar.
