We recommend visiting during Saint Lucia’s dry season from January to April. While you are there, take in the diverse scenery that features rainforests, mountains, and sea. Though Castries is where visitors spend most of their time, we recommend getting off the well beaten path to visit Rodney and Marigot Bays, and Gros Islet. Soufriere is an especially nice area to visit in Saint Lucia.  The Diamond Waterfall & Botanical Gardens and Sulphur Springs Volcano. It is the world’s only drive-through volcano in which tourists can view pits from just a few hundred feet away, and even take a mud bath. The baths are said to have healing properties.

If perhaps you are on a cruise and Castries is as far as you care to venture from the boat, you won’t go wrong. The capital city of Saint Lucia hosts Pointe Seraphine port hosting a large duty-free shopping area with nearby Serenity Park, and water tours. While there, don’t miss out on landmarks like Derek Walcott Square, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the City Library, and Morne Fortune Hill if you’re into architecture. More places to consider in Castries is the Castries Market, and Choc, La Toc, Malabar, and Vigie Beaches that are easily accessible with their own share of charm. Need a unique or familiar bite to eat once there, Castries has local and also American food chains to give you energy for your next stop.
